Amda Iyasus
Amda Iyasus ( ''ʿāmda iyasus'', "Pillar of Jesus," (アムハラ語:''made iyesus'')) was Emperor (''nəgusä nägäst'') (throne name Badel Nan በድል ናኝ ''badil nāñ''; 1433–1434) of Abyssinia, and a member of the Solomonic dynasty. He was the younger son of Takla Maryam. E. A. Wallis Budge notes that Amda Iyasus ruled for eight months, and left no children. The royal chronicles also do not relay his deeds during his brief tenure atop the throne. Al-Maqrizi was reportedly puzzled by the quick turnover in Kings.〔Budge, ''A History of Ethiopia: Nubia and Abyssinia'', 1928 (Oosterhout, the Netherlands: Anthropological Publications, 1970), p. 303.〕 == References ==
